Samhain celebration

The end of October/beginning of November marks one of the main cross quarter festivals, essentially marking the end and beginning of the celtic year.  The main energy associated with the festival is one of connecting to the root energy and a time of reflection and rest.   It’s also a time to journey into the unconscious realms of spirit, recognising and honouring both light and dark aspects of the pshyche as a necessary part of being.  The approaching darkness of winter can be seen as a magical time when the veil between spirit and matter thins and access to deeper mysteries opens.  Inner journeys, meditations, connections with ancestors and inner wisdom are all now possible.  It’s easy to see how this has evolved into the modern day halloween concept of ghosts, skeletons and all things deathly.  However, the real magic happens when the cycle of death and rebirth are remembered and honoured as the opportunity to incubate seeds of new ideas for the year ahead.

 

pathways to purpose

The need for meaning and purpose is part of the basic human make up.  Finding our unique role in the world - who we are and what we are meant to do  - sits behind all our longing and searching.  The quest to finding this purpose is often fraught with obstacles, no more so than in the current climate.  Fear of the future, lack of security, economic woes and family stresses all sap inner strength and vitality and separate us from who we really are.   Taking time out to explore the rich tapestry of  individual uniqueness is the best gift we can give ourselves.   As Dr Wayne Dyer says – ‘we’re not human beings having a spiritual experience, we’re spiritual beings having a human experience’.  If there’s one piece of advice I would pass on to anyone contemplating undertaking such a journey is to begin a regular meditation practice.   In my opinion this is one of the best self-care lifestyle choices we can make and is something that can be done anywhere at anytime.  Of course, meditation alone isn’t necessarily going to turn your life around overnight but it can lead to insights and strengthens the spirit in knowing what to do next.  Spending twenty minutes a day in quiet contemplation is often all that is needed in the beginning… a first step in discovering your pathway to purpose.

In June I mentioned that we’d decided to sell our lovely motorhome.  We did indeed have some interest from potential buyers but sadly none were able to proceed any further.  I know that anyone who looks at it will be very interested as it really has everything you need and we’re selling it fully equipped.  I’m happy to show people around the motorhome and answer any questions.  The price has been reduced as we’re wanting to find someone who wants to enjoy it as much as we have.  The attached pdf file  gives all the details and plenty of photos.motorhomeadvert

 

10-10-10: a new hope

Do you remember the original Star Wars movie in 1977?  How it began with the on-screen words Chapter IV: a new hope?  Well, the forthcoming cosmic energy wave that is happening on 10-10-10 feels like a new hope.  The planet has been receiving these energy ‘boosts’ periodically and their effects have been felt far and wide.  This one, however, feels slightly different.  It feels like we’re finally turning a corner and there really is now that spark of hope, peace, unity and love that so many have been praying for.  As we continue to move from the end of the great fourth cycle of time into the beginning of the fifth cycle of time that is ear-marked in 2012, (interesting to note the original Star Wars film was also chapter 4!), we can at last feel the wave of peace spread across the planet.  The challenges ahead aren’t going to disappear, but at least we can feel assured of the future.   I’m planning to spend some quiet time on 10th to contemplate and receive this energy as it harmonises with the earth, nature, crystals, elementals, animals, birds, plants and humans.

working with intention

I am consantly reminded of the importance of setting positive intention in the process of being able to manifest desired physical reality.  Whilst I am often described as being very positive, I find I can easily be dragged into the daily bombardment of negativity from media, news, the internet and the experiences of those around me.  I have to closely monitor the type of information that I allow myself to receive so that I can remain ‘in the light’ and full of joyful expectation.  The minute I begin watching the news, this turns to fear as the diet of fear, greed, war, lack, deficit etc that is fed to humanity intensifies.  As the shift to a new era continues, those of us who are lightworkers and have ’woken up’ to what’s going on must focus only on a truly positive outcome.   Scentific experiments now suggest that future events are increasingly being ‘leaked’ into the present as global consciousness  continues to grow.   This is why it’s so important for us all to focus on love, peace, co-operation, freedom, sustainability and other positive outcomes.  The saying ‘ energy flows where intention goes’ is a really good mantra for our times – try it and see for yourself!

I teach Reiki 2nd Degree and Master Level on a one-to-one basis in honour of this very personal life path choice.  One advantage of this is that the training happens at a time that suits you and fits around your lifestyle rather than on a pre-determined course date.  However, in these challenging times it can be hard to devote the time, energy or resources needed to take training to the next level.  I’m therefore offering students who wish to continue with the development of their Reiki training the following discount: 

Reiki 2nd Degree: 1 day training plus half day follow up.  Normal price £300.  Discounted price: £250.
